What Do You Need Help With?

REMINDER - the new blog and podcast being built as we speak is going to be "Co-Ed"... for Women and Men...

The interest and demand from both sides has been high - so onward we all go! Here's a glimpse of the new website logo (once the podcast logo is ready I'll share that too :-) NewJOEYATLAS600x140

2 VERY Important Questions for YOU:

1 - What are the top 3 topics you would like to see covered on the new blog and in the podcast (use your imagination here - you don't have to keep it only focused on exercise and nutrition - think more broadly, in terms of overall wellness, longevity, etc...) 2 - What benefits would you like to get out of the new website, blog and most importantly, the podcast show? In other words - what would help you the most?.. what goals would you like to achieve as you look toward your future? What goals have you NOT reached yet, that you need help with? Again feel free to think broadly here.. in 'life' terms, not just "fitness" focused... Please write your answers below. I'm heading out the door for a bike ride and a food shop - so I'll be checking later to reply and be back in touch with you, etc..

The more details you share the better I'll be able to help you.

Looking forward to your answers :-) - Joey

  • Ligia

    Hi Joey ,
First of all thank you for all the encouragement posting and the symulast program has helped me with the fight against cellulite. O world luke more gelo wuth toning the skin … it is beyond exercise it is more related to that . Any tips in how to improve it would be great . Thank you keep up the good work.

  • Sharon Whysall

Something on self confidence would be good thanks x

  • Elsa

    Hi, Joey!

I’d like to see something on anti-ageing in general, how to find like-minded buddies (trust me, it’s hard!) and how to avoid the influence of people who like nothing better than to try and sabotage your efforts. I do my utmost to resist them, but sometimes I struggle with all the negativity around me and feel annoyed with the ‘What, you don’t drink?’, ‘Come on, surely you can eat a little cake, you’re soooo thin!’ and similar comments I constantly get.

I’m also working on my posture (I work at a desk, so it’s a problem), so maybe something on how to maintain a good posture would also be good (I’ve made improving my posture my New Year’s resolution).

I hope I’ve given you plenty of food for thought…

  • Barb

    Hi Joey,

I struggle with motivation and will power. I know what I need to do (as we all do) but just lack the stick-to-it motivation after I achieve a little success.

    Thanks

  • JoeyAtlas

This is great input, Barb… LOTS of people struggle with this aspect.

I’ll be covering it for sure – from several angles too.
    Thanks!

  • JoeyAtlas

    Elsaaaaaaa! 🙂

Plenty for sure – lots of gold here… I’ll be talking about all this – as this is where I really get into things… the “mind” aspects of a balanced and realistic fitness lifestyle.

    Stay tuned!

  • JoeyAtlas

Simple – but a good one, Sharon! Plenty to talk about as it touches on self-image, self-esteem, self-worth, etc…

    Stay tune 🙂

  • JoeyAtlas

Good suggestion, Ligia! The skin… I’ll be bringing on other experts to help enlighten on topics such as these.

btw – let me know what kind of improvements you’re seeing with the SYMULAST method.

    Thanks!
    J

  • JoeyAtlas

Bone health – It’s on the list, Anderson – thanks! Yes – it is vitally important.

  • Dianne Creamer

    Hello Joey,
I would like to hear a topic on exercising after 50. Why the body takes longer to recover and what you can do about it. Weight loss and hormones after 50. How to lower cortisol and the effects after 50. Changes in diet regarding the three fat hormones Estrogens/cortisol/insulin.

  • Ruky

Thanks Joey, you are doing a great job trust me. Please can I get a diet plan to get my body back after birthing my baby? I also want a good exercise to increase my hips and get rid of my belly pouch

    Thanks

  • JoeyAtlas

Thanks, Ruky! Are you on any of my programs yet? If so, which ones?

If not – your best bet is to start with the free beginner program here:
    http://joeyatlas.com/fitness-videos/beginner-fitness-training-program-for-home-or-travel/

And consider the free 28-Day meal plan here in my first book:

    Joey

  • JoeyAtlas

Great requests here, Dianne!! Thanks for adding.. I’ll put these on the list 🙂

  • Winnifred Sylvester

Hey Joey. I have the nakedbeauty/SYMULAST program but really consistent with using it. I need some motivation but most of all I need help with combating body pains. I tried stretching which helps, sometimes I just give up trying.

  • Simone Labuschagne

Hi Joey, I have been doing the tummy routine on your website but am really looking for some exercises targeting the lower belly (below the belly button; to firm up the post babies flab). Can you refer me to existing exercises or maybe put a few on your symulast website? Many thanks!!

  • Lesego

Hi, i have been implementing some of the fitness and healthy eating ideas you shared previously. My biggest challenges however, are that a) I have persistent back ache more specifically the upper back with a pinching pain between the shoulders and it spreads up towards the shoulder and neck area. I have carried this burden for about two years now and not even gym/physical activity or rest help. physiotherapy and massages I do throughout the year only give temporary relief. I have observed that this is stress related and trying to manage the stress doesn’t work. Not even herbs, supplements, healthy eating etc seem to help. As I begin 2017 I wish I could get rid of this condition once and for all because persistent fatigue limits my ability to do anything after hours as I tend to oversleep.
    b) Secondly, the last time I did a medical checkup, my cholesterol was unhealthy and wonder if it contributed to a slow metabolism because honestly I don’t think I eat too much. c) Thirdly, how effective are blood group related eating plans? I wonder if the reason it is difficult to lose weight is because I never followed these strictly. I suspect I might be eating the wrong foods for my body.
As I intend to start up a small scale business this year I wish I could get rid of the above mentioned challenges so I can exert my full energies into the business. Thanks

  • Anderson

HI Joey I have commented on your request one added question when it comes to bone health do you support the advertized products on the market with all the side effects that are scary or do you, like always ,promote the idea of Natural health care not a brilliant question but I need to ask. Thank you for any answers you have to this subject.

  • JoeyAtlas

Thanks, Winni. What are the body pains from? Are you seeing a doctor about them?

  • JoeyAtlas

Hi Simone – we’ll have lots of new ones on the new site in a few months – but for now try adding this one:

  • JoeyAtlas

Hi Lesego – sorry to hear these challenges…

Hard to direct you on next steps as there are several factors that would require a closer look.

One thing I will say is that the blood type diets have minimal merit. They are more so just a clever way to say “you’re eating the wrong foods …and this diet will tell you how to fix that”, etc…

    Joey

  • JoeyAtlas

If you mean the prescription drugs – short answer is no, I don’t support them unless absolutely necessary. But the truth is most people are not eating will and not exercising – hence the pitching of the “medications” to fix the problem…

Of course – my approach is: Eat right, exercise wisely, don;t do things that are not good for the body/mind (smoke, booze, drugs) – and THEN looks to treatment options if something is out of order. 🙂

  • JoeyAtlas

    🙂

  • Anderson

HI Joey I didn’t think for one minute that that the perscriptoin drugs advertized you would go for in a minute I do not either and I do believe we all have a Choice of falling in to the trap of a quick sale or quick fix to mask the real problems .
    Thank youl
    Phyllis

  • JoeyAtlas

    You’re welcome! 🙂

  • Winnifred Sylvester

Hi Joey I have seen the doctor but the pain I mostly worried about seems to be muscular and on my left arm. I also seem to have degeneration of the spine least so I’m told.
    Winnie.

  • JoeyAtlas

Yes – degen of the spine (to a small degree) is normal at middle age (same with me…) But under normal conditions it shouldn’t be a hindrance – and with proper exercise and nutrition it should be minimized…

Sounds like possible neurological pain in left arm??

  • Winnifred Sylvester

Thank you Joey. Any help with the exercise to minimize the pain. Can you explain the neurological pain?

  • JoeyAtlas

Hi Winni – it’s difficult to advise from afar in a situation like this. Sounds like you should have the Dr look into the arm pain.

  • Winnifred Sylvester

Thank you Joey, as always you are marvelous

  • JoeyAtlas

    🙂

  • Daynie DeTrana

I really would like to see a segment of leading kids ( especially young mendoen a path of obtaining a healthy way of training besides thinkin they have to throw themselves into a gym and just become part of the tfitness zcene before their bodies are ready and worse still doing the totally wrong exercises because they dont know what kind of plan to form or things to eat. I think parents should be informed too so they can offer the right support. Also as someone who had joined the mag factor i really miss the personal touch of your experience and advice as far as helping us design our own program and plan to fit our needsonline https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/4ea023e19f17611b2dc23e3c1bc6b0e5a5285488c840ce62c88f2e79304a0ba2.jpg thanks as slways joey for your support and sharing your wisdom and knowledge….dayna detrana

  • JoeyAtlas

    Hi Daynie,
Thanks for the great input. I’ll surely be venturing into this topic area.
I’m also working on an improved version of the private MAGfactor program – which will be part of the new platform… aiming to have that ready in a few months 🙂

  • Lucia James

Hi Joey, I’ve been following for many years and life has really gotten in the way of staying on track. First and nasty divorce, then job change and move. Then at 41 I had a heart attack and have 2 stints. Most recently, my thyroid has gone haywire. This is the most frustrating. I gain weight no matter what I eat or do. And I’m always exhausted. I need food advice, I’m lactose intolerant. I also need motivation. Thank you for any advice. 🙂

  • dayna detrana

Daynie25@gmail.com – hi joey ! Another resl problem for me is knowing what foods are good for each specific body type, and being able to build a healthy diet from that info

  • JoeyAtlas

Thanks, Lucia – this does sound quite frustrating..
Two things for you for now… until the new site/podcast goes live this week:
1 – are you seeing a specialist for any of this?
2 – Motivation: Having a heart attack at 41 should be enough fuel for motivation to get consistent with proper exercise. Are you doing that? If so – what does your weekly exercise plan look like?
    Best
    Joey 🙂

  • JoeyAtlas

Thanks, Dayna – we’ll be talking about foods/healthy eating for sure. Stay tuned!!
