“Live to the Max” …What’s This All About?

“Live to the Max” …is about YOU. It’s about your life – all aspects of it – and NOT just your body…

I’ll give you some examples;

This new ‘Joey Atlas’ website has been a LONG time in the making. The first version of this site was a very basic, one dimensional website that I had to build myself (bank in mid 2005) – But it was better than nothing, and it got me started. As a matter of fact you can see my humble, online beginnings right here >> The ‘Old’ Joey Atlas Website << Click to see))

And in my efforts of ‘Living to the Max’ – I knew I had to eventually morph that crude, ‘rough around the edges’ website into a centralized, ‘Official Joey Atlas Hubsite’ that would keep people coming back – and encourage people to share the site with others who could use the kind of help I offer.

Here’s another example…

So many busy parents complain about “not having time to exercise…” and yet, I’ll see dozens of parents at my kids’ practices – sitting in their folding chairs, blabbering away about total nonsense with the other parents, totally wasting their time – When they could be on their feet, putting in a solid hour of some form of effective exercise right there at the practice facilities – indoor or outdoor, doesn’t matter…

Sitting in your damn folding chair – blowing hot air – IS NOT ‘Living to the Max’… It’s living in denial. Your kid(s) don’t NEED you to watch them practice. They really just want you to watch their games.

So if ‘time’ is one of your excuses for not taking care of your self, and you’ve been guilty of the ‘folding chair’ routine at the practices – Then it’s time to leave the ‘life-killing’ chair in the car, put on some simple fitness attire, get your sneakers on, go break a sweat, ‘Joey Atlas Style’ and start ‘Living to the Max’…

And don’t be surprised if you inspire some of the other ‘folding chair parents’ to follow your lead and join you in breaking a sweat – After all that’s what its all about… Don’t live your life passively… Shape your life, mold it, get the most out if it – and you’ll inspire others to also ‘Live to the Max’.

There’s more to come on the subject of helping you ‘Live to the Max’ – so stay tuned and please;

1 - Don’t forget to sign up for your FREE Instant Access to the ‘Live to the Max’ e-Newsletter…

2 – Share this website with EVERYONE you know who can appreciate it in some way….

3 – Let me hear from you below. Whatever is on your mind, right now – I want to hear from you. That space is for you – so start typing (click on ‘COMMENTS’ way down at the bottom)…

“Don’t Be Like Everybody Else… Be Fit!…”

Your trainer for life – your trainer forever,

PS. SORRY FOR MY LOOONG E-MAIL AND I HOPE MY ENGLISH ARE NO PROBLEM FOR YOU TO UNDERSTAND WHAT I ASK YOU TO TELL ME.
  • JoeyAtlas
Yes Sotiria - you have a GREAT chance to see incredible improvements with the ULBHTM program.

    2-3 times per week
each session is about 50 mins - but you can shorten if you need to on some days
Sounds like your eating is fine - and you would not need to change it.

    So let's go!!!!!!!
    Get started!

    Joey
  • Cherie
    Hi Joey,
I have your ULBHTM DVD and I love It, I have also used your trouble spot tune up which is great for me as it is done in 10 minutes, I was wondering if you have a 10 min tune up for your upper body so I could put the two together and get a full body workout in 20 mins. I'm a busy Mum with 3 kids so the quicker I can get the exercise in the better. I would be interested if you have developed a 20 min full body workout that I can do from home. otherwise a 10 min tune up for upper body e booklet would be great.
    Thanks
    Cherie

User friendly and interesting...way to go Joey and tell Dom to go for it, take a chance, he has alot to offer.
Congrats on the site upgrade and thanx for helping improve our lives.
  • Raina
Hello Joey, Hope all is well with you and thanks a million for the inspiration. Just wanted to drop a question... I bought a treadmill and Im so afraid to use it. I dont want to loose weight, wanna keep my curves, just wanna tone and build my butt more. How can I incorporate jogging with your lower body DVDs? which one of your plans will help me build more muscles?
  • JoeyAtlas
Hi Raina - all is well here - thanks...
And thank you for allowing me to help you!!

    2 Tips:

Forget choosing one of the plans. Just start with Level one dvd for about a month - 3 times per week. And do the treadmill on the other days for about 20 minutes - just break a good sweat. But no need to go longer as you dont want to lose weight.

    Hope this helps - ...
    ...keep me posted,
    Joey

hi, joey, i have four kids and well i would say i live a very active life. we walk and ride bikes and play outside sports together, but here is my problem my youngest are a set of twins that just turned four and i have always had knee problems do to being flat footed. i have tried everything to get back and i always get the same result, my knees prevent me from doing a lot of exercises. Lunges stair climbing, jogging, jump rope. i really want to get back where i was before the kids but i dont know what to do so that i am not in pain because i pushed through the exercise. i am raising these kids alone and dont have the extra cash to purshase a lot of exercise equipment or video's. can you give me anything i can use? thanks a lot.. Nina
  • JoeyAtlas
    Hi Nina,

I'd love to help you - and I appreciate you 'trying'...
First - if you have medical coverage - You should check into getting custom fitted orthotics (for the flat footed issue), that you can wear daily. They saved my body when I needed them about 20 years ago - and I still wear them.

Second - no matter what you do for exercise - you need to take it gradually - so you can build up the proper leg muscles to support your knee joints - so they can function optimally - and allow you to exercise regularly. So - I want you to see what you can use from my Youtube channel:
    http://www.youtube.com/homefitnesstv

Let me know if this all helps - And keep me posted on your progress,

    Joey

Great site Joey,do you ship your dvds to kenya? If not how do I get your dvd for lower body parts ie hip, butt and thighs?
    Thanks
    Fatma
  • JoeyAtlas
Yes, Fatma - we ship to every country - But depending on reliability of postal services you may want to choose UPS Worldwide Express when you place the order (you do this in the comment section - just write Pam a note for the upgrade, its a $65 USD charge - and its guaranteed).

I do Stepper, Inclined walking, Eliptical machine and little bit of running threadmill
  • Vidhya
In addition to above reply,I am 157lbs at age of 25, I would like to reduce 15lbs. Wat is the best cardio rouitne to be followed.I follow up your naked beauty and little of thigh hip butt makeover whenever get time.
  • JoeyAtlas
How much time do you have each day - on average?
  • Vidhya
I can spend 1 hr 5-6 days in a week for workout totally..
  • JoeyAtlas
Ok - so when did you start the program(s)?
What kind of progress are you making?
And what does a typical week look like in terms of exercise? Map it out for me, please.
  • Vidhya
    Joey,

I purchased Naked Beauty (Cellulite Reduction) and Hip, Thigh & Butt Make over DVD from you site month ago. As i told you, i am 157 lbs and i would like to lose 15lbs. I have cottage cheese cellulite which i would like to reduce.

I have been doing this workout since a month. My week in terms of exercise follows

3 days in week cellulite cardio
(18 minutes Inclined walking, 18 minutes Stepper & 10 minutes Runnning in Threadmill)
3 days in week with 8 cellulite exercise in nakedbeauty routine
(12 reps in each exercises take around 25 minutes totally)
any of the 2 days in cellulite routine i use to add up hipp thigh butt makeover dvd 1
    (8 reps in each exercises)

This is wat i follow with proper diet sticly following only from last 3 weeks..
How should i modify the plan for more productivity and to lose weight also.
  • JoeyAtlas
ok - what changes have you seen so far?
What kind of progress have you made?

    JA
  • Vidhya
Not much change.. haved reduced 1 pound..
  • Vidhya
Wat change should be done to reduce weight in my routine. Please suggest wat would be better with all details above.
  • JoeyAtlas
Tell me more about the "strict diet" you mention - are you aware of the number of daily calories?
Do you break a good sweat during your cardio sessions?
  • Vidhya
I would be consuming around 1000 calories per day i guess. I take oat meal with 2% fatmilk in morning, little rice with vegetable in afternoon, some milk drink in evening, 2 chappati and 2 egg white in night. In addition to it i take apple, watermelon or nectraine or some other fruit daily. I dont break much sweat in cardio sessions. Weekends i might get sweat breaking cardio sessions.
  • JoeyAtlas
1000 cals may be too low...

Can you keep one of those yolks in your evening meal?
Can you add some protien to your lunch? (fish)?
Can you add ground flax seeds to your oats? and cook it with water instead of milk?
Maybe even add some crushed walnuts/pecans to it with raisins...

Can you get your self to break a sweat in your 'during the week' cardio?

    JA
  • Vidhya
yeah i can add that protein to lunch and also raisins & walnuts to the oats. My body fat% is already 25% so i thought i can avoid yolk, suggest wat can i do? . Wat kind of cardio would be more better for weight reduction and i can follow with other routine wat is said earlier. Suggest me on it.
  • JoeyAtlas
Vidya - overall you are on the right track, despite not seeing major changes yet...

There isn't much to change at this point as you are only 1 month into your program.

So - I would only suggest that you increase the intensity of your cardio sessions - regardless of what type of cardio - Just increase the intensity of the sessions - work a bit harder - break a sweat.

    Keep me posted,
    Joey
  • Ben
    Great work :-D inspiring.....
  • JoeyAtlas
Thanks Ben! - spread 'the word'...

greetings from the elderly. i always enjoyed sports - golf, tennis, racketball, golf and free weights. belonged to many workout facilities over th years. as a reresult i looked 50 when i was 65, 60 at 70and for some reason 75 at 75.i doesn`t take a rocket scientist to figure out why. i quit doing the things i did as a way of life. metal knees , neuropathy, etc. diminished my desire. who wants to die healthy i would rationalize. i joined a fitness club this year and i hope to develop once again the desire for a better life style. i will say i spend more time in the sauna than on the treadmill but it will get better as my body and mind get in sync. keep the faith ron
  • JoeyAtlas
Ron - good outlook - sounds like you are 'back on track' mentally - where it counts...

    Keep me posted.

Hi Joey, I have had your first leg, butt, thigh for about 3 years now and have to admit it really made a difference. Then last October I got a very painful frozen shoulder so was not able to do the exercises. Now its about 50% better and once more I can do them again. I love the new website but that cartoon does not do you justice!!
Keep up the good work. Pat
  • JoeyAtlas
Thanks Pat - keep us all posted on your progress!

  • ninsk
    Hi Joey
I got your leg, butt & thigh workout last year, but cannot see much thigh improvement as I cannot do all of the squats. Pain in right knee - any suggestions?
  • JoeyAtlas
1 - skip the exercises that bother you - (or modify them - so you only go through half the range of motion - move slowly)

2 - do all the exercises that dont bother you.

3 - do the program every other day for 2 months faithfully - and then let me know how it went.

4 - do 20 - 40 minutes of sweat breaking cardio on the other days

I too am a victim of the life-killing chair. Unfortunately, I am a full time student and find it hard to excercise after spending a day in a chair or driving in a car. Any ideas? I take the stairs and walk the longest way to class already.

  • Website looks very friendly and a great improvement! Yep, I see those parents sitting in their folding chairs all the time on the sidelines watching their kids practice or talking on the cell phone, snacking on chips/pop and I'm power walking laps, thinking "Doesn't anyone care about their health?" Sometimes I ask some of the overweight teenage girls to walk with me and a few of them have taken me up on my offer, but most don't. I'm 54 and I'm in better shape than most of those women with youngsters in their 20's and 30's...not bragging cause I work at it, but imagine if they continue in this lifestyle, what they will be like at 54. Thanks for the fitness tips and I hope how soon your cellulite exercises are on DVD, so I don't have to be in front of my computer to follow along!

    Way to go Connie!

You may want to try the ULBHTM dvds - those will help bigtime.

Hi there, I have a question for you, there are so many sites I go to about getting a personal training certification. What do you reccommend. I was leaning towards ISSA, what do you think? Teaching classes for years, weight trained for years but never bothered to pursue this because its been a lifetime that I am afraid of testing and dont think I can retain all the information. Living in a box and doing what has been comfortable for me.. Marianne

Just pick one and do it - But then develop your own 'style'/philosophy.

You know Joey, You have the guts to really say it like it is. I have stayed pretty fit throughout my whole life but am always looking to make it better - or best myself...People much younger or even my age will say to me; 'oh, well, you must not have to work at it' - wrong! I eat well, exercise and try to live healthy, and yes, it means giving up certain pleasures; but it's not worth it eating pizza and ice cream if your body feels poorly. And I do think about people's lifestyles, knowing just HOW much time they may spend in front of American Idol; or sitting in folding chairs....but yet don't 'have time' to move....just like spending your extra money; you CHOOSE how to spend your time - and you have the same 24 hours that everyone else does. This does NOT mean that folks who have their plates full of 24 x 7 caretaking; or other circumstances too numerous to mention; I mean those who would have time to complain for 30 minutes about how busy they are instead of doing jumping jacks! They would be happier too!! Thanks for all your hard work. I am thoroughly enjoying the Ultimate workouts and the Cellulite one too...already getting compliments!!
  • Joey
kjude - Well said!! ...and thanks for the compliments. [ truth be told - I do get my share of pizza and ice cream - But I 'earn' it - ...That's part of 'Living to the Max' ]
