    Just read your E-mail. I am also the product of a 'strict' father, but when I look back, (if I ever had a family) I would wish that I could be a father like mine. No, he never beat us or anything like that – the ONE thing that I missed is his appreciation (approval) of me. I have no idea of your relation with your kids, BUT I will tell you the same as I told a nice Mexican man who was to become a father at 29 YO. “I am an old fogey single man who doesn't know anything, but I will tell you that YOU SHOULD HUG YOUR CHILDREN AT LEAST ONCE A DAY…NOT AFTER YOU DISCIPLINE THEM, BUT WHEN YOU HAVE NO REAL REASON FOR HUGGING THEM.” hE TOOK NOTE OF THAT AND NOW HE HAS TWO SONS AND A DAUGHTER AND THEY ARE THE NICEST, WELL BEHAVED KIDS – YOU WOULD BE PROUD OF THEM.     Hi Will,

    Read your views with interest. I didnt have a great dad..but that didnt stop me from being a “hugging” and “huggable” parent to my two boys. Theyre teenagers-the older one's 18-but they always grin when i hug them. even now (altho' they'll wriggle a little and say they're “OLD” now(!!) They do come and hug me as well-from behind, in the kitchen or anytime -I'm least prepared! 🙂 But boy, dont i love it!

    I will keep this article in mind and apply it to our everyday lives. My children have bad eating habits and my husband and I are attempting to change that. Its been difficult but we will succeed.

    Joey, I am a twin. In 1993, I no longer had a twin brother to confide in, hug, hang out with, nothing but fantastic memories. My children were young and my exhusband didn't want me to cry in front of them. But they knew that mom was hurting and the love that they returned to me was great! I had brought them up to hug and tell your loved ones how you feel. No matter what happens, I would always love them. They are older now and you couldn't find a prouder mother than I am. My daughter is a very loving mother to a daughter of her own. And you better believe that when my childen and granddaughter see me there are always hugs and words of love. And I have impressed upon my children that no one is perfect on this earth but your children will always be your children. No matter where my kids are when they talk to me, in person or on the phone, I always get an I LOVE YOU MOM and if in person there are always hugs, lots of them. Don't ever forget to tell your loved ones just how special they are. If you show them love, the rest comes easy. B.

    That's the Way, Joey! By setting good examples early and establishing habits of healthful eating and physical fitness, parents can give children the gift of health to carry them through adulthood. We ALL need to do our part in helping “our” children!

    The truth is that in many ways, what parents do does have a great impact on a child. I know quite well the important role that parents and adults play in a child's life. As a professional working with children, their families and the community, I know that children are like sponges, they absorb what's around them and they need and want positive role models. And, the biggest role models in any child's life are his or her parents.

    Joey, I am pretty sure by now you know that I feel your children are lucky to have a really positive role model in you.

    The reason role models are so important in children's lives is that children learn by observing those around them: how to behave, how to deal with problems, how to interact with others. Some parents don't realize just how significant their role is. It really does start at home. But parents don't always appreciate the impact they have on their child's life. The challenge is that when parents are sedentary, quite often their children are too. Same goes for poor eating habits. And an unhealthy lifestyle can have lifelong consequences.

    This is a REAL start for parents to realize they need a kick-start to get back on the right path to help the family as a whole. Just as working together as a family is important, so is finding activities that everyone enjoys and involving kids in the discussion.

    Hi Joey..
    I am very confused right now, and was hoping you could help me…
    See, I've read Bill's book where he writes a lot about weight training and always increasing the weight, mainly saying one has to perform this type of training to get results. But from what I've read on your sites (and from the lower body workout) I understand that I don't need a loot of weights… Moreover, I don't want big muscles, and obivously there is a possibility to build muscles and make them bigger when lifting weights…
    Anyway, it may seem silly, but my aim is to get a body close to those of Victoria Secrets' models. They do work out, but I gather that their approach to workout is leaning and toning, not lifting weights…
    I am not sure what to do… What do you think is the best approach?

    Hi Lisa – good question..
    Are you using the e-Manual version or the DVD version of the ULBHTM? (did you use your 2-weeks free in my private forum, yet??)
    That must be Bill's “old” book, Body-for-Life, right?

    Short answer is – you do not need weights when you follow my method. It's still resistance training but mainly using bodyweight/gravity… And you will get hot results as long as you stay consistent.

    I'm using your dvd, and no, I have not yet used the 2-weeks in your forum. I have only been using the dvd for about 1,5 week, with a break in between due to an operation… I am just a bit impatient, wanting the results to come soon… 🙂
    Yes, it is his old book. Maybe he has altered his approach in newer books…?
