    Hi Patti – if you need flexibility then you are correct – my Optimum Flexibility DVDs are perfect for you. You can always add the other home exercise programs later – taking a gradual approach.

    just started the leg butt and thigh workout, am planning on doing my fourth workout of that tomorrow. I find it a bit much to do all at once, but I love how you say we can take breaks and just do what we are comfortable with, really takes the feeling of guilt and that you are not doing anything away.

    I am slowly getting better the first time i did the work out I couldnt even lift my legs, now i am lifting them the whole way up and doing the whole 15 sets, but i find it hard to go any longer than around 30mins I am yet to get past the floor workouts. I hope that my fittness will get better and my strength so i can continue, I tend to tire out very easily. Do you have any ideas to present this?

    Overall I think you are a terrific trainer, just wish you lived in my home town, so you could help me in person!! terrific joey.

    Hey Joey, my friend and I have both committed outselves to the ULBHT workout and started last night. WOW we got a fantastic workout and were both soaking with sweat by the end of the two DVD's!

    Hi Joey, I ordered the ULBHT workout and after about 3 weeks, I got sciatica pretty bad, which I've never had in my life. I stopped the workout for a couple weeks and tried to go back to it again, but the sciatica came back strong. I was in pretty good physical condition because I've been doing Chalene Johnson's “ChaLEAN Extreme” for over a year. I thought it would be good to mix it up and I started to see immediate improvements in my trouble area “thighs” until I had to stop. The one tip I think would be beneficial is if you instructed more on the proper method for doing exercises. I wasn't able to perform lunges before because of my knees, but with proper instruction from Chalene I have no issues. I still love and appreciate your blogs and all the information you spread so freely! Thanks!

    1 – Are you doing the e-Manual or the DVD version?
    2 – Have you stopped doing all other lower body exercises/workouts since you started ULBHTM?
    3 – Do you stretch before and after each ULBHTM session?

    1. I have the DVD version
    2. No, I resumed the lower body exercises w/ the other program. There were a few leg exercises I had to complete w/o a band until my sciatica went away completely. I didn't have any problems with squats, or lunges, it was exercises where I had to lift my leg behind me.
    3. Yes, I did the full stretching before and after. Honestly, I was shocked this happened. I've done other programs and have never experienced this problem.

    Thanks for answering those Tammy…

    1 – Being that you have the DVDs – I'm a little confused about what you mean by this “The one tip I think would be beneficial is if you instructed more on the proper method for doing exercises.” — maybe you can further explain.

    2 – I always advise others to only focus on the ULBHTM as your lower body workouts. Doing it while doing other lower body programs/workouts is counterproductive. (If you see/feel there is one exercise that bothers you then leave it out of the routine – such as the one where you lift your leg behind you.)

    3 – Good – keep the stretching going – you may even want to do the stretches on other days too. That is fine. No need to be shocked – I believe if you leave out any other lower-body workouts, and cut out the leg-lift-behind-you, then you should be right on track with the ULBHTM dvds.

    Let me know if this helps and makes sense to you.

    I would like to express that in terms of a workout making you feel GREAT – Joey’s ULBHTM WINS…HANDS DOWN! I have Joey’s ULBHTM DVD and find that it actually helped me tremendously with pain I had in my lower back/hip area that I had hurt by doing some intense lifting of some very large objects. Ever since doing Joey’s workout on a regular basis, my pain has gone away and I have had absolutely no problems since.

    Joey DOES point out to do the exercises you can do – to build up your strength, but to be aware that there are many ways to workout and that some positions might irritate your weakness. Everyone is different. You have to find what is most comfortable for you. That’s what I love about Joey, he always lets you know it’s OK to leave out or modify any exercises if needed. I, however, always try to push through and do the best I can do, but the single leg squat in level 2, I totally do not do – I do a sumo/plie dumbbell squat in place of that exercise. LOVE Joey’s mat work – exceptional!

    I feel that Joey gives extremely EXCELLENT instruction on proper form/method of doing each exercise. I actually think he is one of the BEST at giving instruction.

    I would highly recommend this DVD to anyone! Don’t dare hesitate to get this DVD if you are thinking about this is one – it’s one of the BEST DVDS out there! I feel amazing after this workout!

    Joey – I’ll definitely stay tuned, for sure, since you will be revealing lots more about the “things you do in private.” 😉 😀
