Latest Fitness Updates from AtlasVille (Photos Included)

First and foremost I want to share a recent photo taken between sessions at the SCULPTAFIT Studio

My Coaching Team has special orders (from me) to only allow me in the Studio "in small doses"... so when I do get in there, we have some fun.

Next up: Recalls, Warnings and an Informative "Gluten-Free" Document

1 - You may have seen the NutriMost Fat Loss ads in your local sales flyers and coupon magazines - or maybe even walked by one in your local strip mall... WARNING - Stay Clear of the Scam. Here's why: A Skeptical Look at the NutriMost Fat Loss System [caption id="attachment_1893" align="alignnone" width="140"]BEWARE BEWARE the SCAM[/caption] 2 - The Gluten-Free Diet: Recognizing Fact, Fiction, and Fad http://www.jpeds.com/article/S0022-3476(16)30062-2/pdf 3 - Expanded Recall of Ground Tumeric Powder Due to Elevated Lead Levels I've mentioned my inclusion of Turmeric in my daily diet a little ways back. I do this 2 ways. One is by adding top quality turmeric powder to salads, and veggies. The other is by high quality supplementation. The links above show you several food grade powder brands that have been recalled. Good to see if you also have added Turmeric to your daily nutrition plan. 4 - DEA Announces Intent to Schedule Kratom https://www.dea.gov/divisions/hq/2016/hq083016.shtml The DEA is aware of 15 kratom-related deaths between 2014 and 2016. 5 - Smart Lipo product contains undeclared Sibutramine and Phenolphthalein. http://www.fda.gov/ICECI/EnforcementActions/WarningLetters/2016/ucm515915.htm Sibutramine, the active ingredient in the obesity drug Meridia, was removed from the U.S. market in October 2010 because it can substantially increase blood pressure and pulse rate in some individuals, and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. This drug may also interact, in life-threatening ways, with other medications a consumer may be taking. Desmethylsiburamine is similar to sibutramine.
**Feel free to share this post via email, fb or the buttons below. You never know if someone you know is consuming any of the above listed items. You never know whose life you might save.**

My Springtime SHIFT Mode for Body-Fat Reduction

First I want to say thanks for all the sweet Birthday wishes everyone posted on my facebook page. MUCH appreciated! Turning 46 feels awesome. Seriously.... I put in the daily work to be in line with my values and my goals - and the results show. Of course, I also strive to inspire others to do the same. And by you living your healthy and fit lifestyle - YOU will also inspire others as well. Maybe not everyone - but some for sure... I was at our local coffee shop last week doing some work, and the table of guys behind me were talking, trying to figure out some local answers. I turned around to help them out - and we started a friendly conversation. One thing led to another and they asked my age... When I said "46" - they were all blown away... NONE of them thought I was out of my mid-thirties yet. It felt good :-) Ok - so on that note - here is...

My Springtime SHIFT Mode for Body-Fat Reduction

1 - I get up a tad earlier and add about half a mile to my early morning run/jog/walk. Nothing crazy - just a little 'shift' in distance & duration. 2 - I delay all 'heavy' nutrition intake into later in the day by only eating certain veggies & fruits for the first half of the day (carrots, peppers, cucumber, strawberries) - with the exception of my morning tea and coffee. (at around 10am I have a double espresso with almond milk, cacao powder, stevia, and some coconut sugar). 3 - At about 1 or 2 pm I eat what I consider my first "meal" of the day. It's usually 1 or 2 rice cakes with organic butter, peanut butter, cinnamon, ground flax seeds and a pinch of sea salt. 4 - At around 2pm (sometimes earlier) I get up from my desk and do a 25 minute bike ride. I crank it out for about 15-20 minutes and the rest is light riding and just enjoying the outdoors. If it's raining, I grab my jump rope, turn on some good music and skip rope for about 20 minutes. 5 - A light snack around 4pm consisting of my absolute all-time favorite, ANTI-AGING greens juice powder and some nuts (almonds or cashews). If I'm extra hungry I chop a tomato and sprinkle on some black pepper, sea-salt and balsamic vinegar - and I'm satisfied for another 3 hours... 6 - At around 5pm I do my 30 minute body-weight training session and then shift into dinner mode for me and the kids.... Which consists of a spring mix salad, maybe a veggie also, a protein (wild tuna or 2 hard boiled eggs or sauteed chicken or a turkey burger (no bun of course) ...I do add some carbohydrates at this meal. 7 - Green tea and some lite snacking before bed is fine. I'm just mindful to keep a limit on how much I put into my stomach about 2 hours before bed. At first (the first few days) my stomach keeps sending those "hungry" signals in the morning.. But with each day they subside - and my body gets in sync with the 'SHIFT' mode... My energy goes up and my body (and mind) feels more efficient. Every few days there's a definite decrease in body-fat. I can see it in the mirror, feel it by touch, sense it in how my clothes fit - and feel it in my physical performance. Use my 7-Point Outline to create your own version of the Springtime SHIFT and give it a few days to kick in. Keep it simple. Check with your Doctor if you're unsure (even slightly) about it being right for you or not. Any questions, thoughts, comments? Please write in the box below - that space is there for YOU :-) Your trainer for LIFE, - Joey Atlas PS - here's a fun photo Joe (Joey Jr) took yesterday when we picked up my truck from being wrapped with the promo graphics for the new SCULPTAFIT Studio: Joey and Joey SUV preview 2016-03-30 at 11.34.19 AM

Latest Tainted Diet/Weight-Loss Pill Recalls and Bans

Below is a list of risky/tainted weight-loss/diet pills that have been recalled due to potential user danger. And although the warnings came from the FDA (USA focused) - International users will also need to hear this as many of these risky/tainted supplements can be purchased globally because of internet availability.
tainted and recalled diet pill weight loss supplements

On December 22, 2015, Bee Extremely Amazed LLC issued a voluntary recall of all lots of the following weight loss supplements, which were found to contain sibutramine and phenolphthalein:

- Asset Bold - Asset Extreme Plus - Evolve - Infinity - Jenesis - La Trim Plus - Oasis - Prime - Slim X-15 - Slim Trim U - Ultimate Formula - Xcel - Xcel Advanced - Zi Xiu Tang Sibutramine, the active ingredient in the obesity drug Meridia, was removed from the U.S. market in October of 2010 because it can substantially increase blood pressure and pulse rate in some individuals, and may present a significant risk for patients with a history of coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, or stroke. The drug may also interact, in life-threatening ways, with other medications a consumer may be taking. Phenolphthalein, once an ingredient in some over-the-counter laxative products, was reclassified by the FDA in 1999 as "NOT generally recognized as safe and effective." The FDA warned consumers not to buy or use Oasis Bee Pollen and Evolve Bee Pollen several days before this recall was issued. Consumers who have purchased these supplements should not use them, and contact their healthcare provider if they have experienced any adverse side effects. Consumers and healthcare providers are also encouraged to report any adverse reactions to the FDA's MedWatch Adverse Event Reporting Program If you feel you need "extra help" in your fat-loss efforts - and you already have a good fitness/exercise routine in place, with good nutrition habits - then adding help from a GMP certified, 3rd party tested source is the smart way to go about it. The non-stimulant Metabo379 from BioTrust (read details here) is one worth considering. The dangerous choice of using cheaper, non-tested, non-certified products, with outrageous & unrealistic claims is way too risky for anyone to attempt. And keep in mind, the FDA, and other global watchdog organizations do the best they can to watch over the supplement landscape - but the fact is the sea is way to large for them to be aware of everything that is on the market - and anything new coming into the market. So it falls on us to be wise in our searches and even wiser in how we make our choices of products we might want to include in our health and fitness lifestyles. Please do share this post with anyone you know who could benefit from knowing about the recalls and bans above. Looking out for you... Your trainer for life, Joey Atlas

4 Latest Updates from AtasVille (1 may change your life)

As always, I thank you for stopping by to catch the latest - and share the journey (don't forget, I'd love to hear from you, especially if you've never commented before - you can leave me a note at the bottom of today's post. I read them ALL.)

Here are the updates for this week:

UPDATE 1 - Over the next few weeks and months - you’ll be seeing a series of emails from me. Several of them will be to share the main website AND social media properties for SCULPTAFIT Studio #1 - and the reason I’m doing this is twofold: A - I’m going to be creating and sharing material via those channels (facebook, youtube, instagram, etc…) and what I share will be applicable to women everywhere. Yes, the aim is to raise our local visibility and highlight our expert status - but I want you to be able to benefit from all the information we create and share. Stay tuned for your invites to connect and be a part of the journey.
SCULPTAFIT white logo
B - There is strength in community. And even though the Studios will be operating on a ‘local’ level - we intend to leverage the ‘connectivity’ elements of the internet and common technology (smartphones, tablets, etc..) to create a global community sharing common bonds, values and aspirations - which consists of SCULPTAFIT Studio clients - and my clients & subscribers from around the world (this includes you, )
When people of common bonds, values and aspirations become connected - a powerful shift happens, and life takes on a whole new look and feel - in a VERY positive way. This is how we change the world for the better. (by improving individual lives).
Also - It’s not unrealistic for you to imagine a day when there is a SCULPTAFIT Studio near you, as I plan to start franchising in early 2017. UPDATE 2 - There are rumblings of some new FDA food/ingredient bans and product recalls coming soon. As I learn of these I’ll be sure to share them with you so you can take proper action and share the info with your friends and family. UPDATE 3 - The holidays will be here before we know it, and for most people this means gaining some extra weight. My goal this year is to help everyone who struggles with this challenge. If it’s something you battle every year - my aim is to help you reverse that battle this year. So, I’m working on a healthy fat/weight reducing mini-program that should be ready in about 5-6 weeks. Once it’s ready I’ll be sending out pre-release notices for everyone who needs this. It’s actually going to be one of the food/nutrition elements we use with SCULPTAFIT Studio clients. So, I know you’ll appreciate the simplicity and effectiveness. I’ll also be sharing several brand new weight-loss/mindset video lessons from Professor Susan - (the first one may be ready next week). She used to be a size 16 (on a tiny frame) and overcame her food issues with some simple but unique mindset shifts. She'll be sharing her latest info and updates soon - and I'll be helping her get the word out.
[caption id="attachment_1619" align="alignnone" width="274"]Professor Susan, Mom of 3 Professor Susan, Mom of 3[/caption]
Susan has a very powerful "Before and After" story that resonates with MANY women. When you see her latest videos, you'll be glad you tuned in. She's already changed the bodies, minds and health of many people over the last 5 years - and she's not done yet. UPDATE 4 - Top 5 Fruits that Burn Fat; The team at BioTrust just released a new freebie report, and you can get a copy here==>> The Top 5 Fruits for Fast and Lasting Weight-Loss Ok, before you go - be sure to post any questions, comments or kind words of praise below; especially if you've never written to me before (when I know you're reading, and I hear from you - it inspires me to keep doing what I'm doing :-) Your trainer for life, Joey Atlas PS - don't forget to share this now. The #1 Oil I Always Have On Hand

The #1 oil I always have on hand is... COCONUT OIL I'll share why in a second. But please know - this is in addition to my long-time staple: extra virgin olive oil (organic) - and a few other unique oils I'll share with you in the future. But for now - some key points on coconut oil... While J. Carney of 'The Alternative Daily' goes into full and complete details in Coconut Oil Secrets - I'll share some of my own "reasons why" here... 1 - It's an amazing alternative to butter. Don't misunderstand me here though. Butter can still be a healthy part of a well structured nutrition plan. It's when it gets overused, with the wrong foods, in the wrong recipes - and gets consumed FAR TOO MUCH, where it creates problems. So, when I do want some variety - I simply use coconut oil where I would use butter. On steamed cauliflower, or broccoli - for example. 2 - For roasting carrots and brussel sprouts. Since it is a "high heat" oil - it is perfect for longer cooking periods, such as when roasting. Add some sea-salt and black pepper and you end up with.... YUM! 3 - As a natural, high-strength moisturizer. my hands spend lots of time in the water. Between making salads, rinsing veggies & fruits - and ocean activities - my hands get very dry. So several times a day - and then before bed - I give my hands a good dose of coconut oil, rubbed in thoroughly. It works EXTREMELY well and has a pleasant smell, as well. Here's a photo of me showing my appreciation of coconut oil:

Here's a photo of my part-time office assistant (and daughter :-), just after her shower, with our big jars of coconut oil:

Here's a close-up of the label:

"Where can I get this specific coconut oil, Joey?"

I knew you'd ask that :-) If you're a member of Costco - you should be able to get it there as that is where I usually get mine. And you can always hit the "easy" button and just have Amazon ship it to you via this link. Of course - aim to get 'organic' - and keep in mind there are more good brands on the market - so depending on which country you live in - your selection may vary. If coconut oil is new to you, at least give it a try - as it is one more thing you'll be doing to enhance your fitness, strengthen your wellness and improve your quality of life. If you want to go deeper on the info side of coconut oil - I highly recommend J Carney's, Coconut Oil Secrets. Any thoughts, comments or stories about coconut oil? If so, I'd love to hear. So PLEASE post below. Your trainer for life, Joey Atlas
