The #1 Reason I Quit ALL Alcohol (Beer, Wine, Spirits)

The journey of our lifetime presents us with opportunities to make choices for a better life...

And even though the forces of society can make it extremely difficult to see these choices, let alone realize we have a personal freedom, and innate ABILITY to choose - it can be a monumental challenge when faced with an opportunity for positive self-development...

Today I share with you, one of my recent "choices".

If you've been reading my posts and articles for a while, you'll already know that I put a lot of thought, energy and effort into improving various aspects of my life. For example: 1 - I no longer subscribe to TV/cable service. I gave TV up long ago, so I could focus in self-stimulation and growth. And remove the 'default' temptation of 'the tube' from the down-time options of my kids. (now we interact more, go for walks, play cards, read, etc...) 2 - I meditate almost every morning after my morning run/walk, keep a simple gratitude journal, and also read at least a few pages of enlightening writings, BEFORE the sun even comes up. 3 - I routinely read, and speak to people wiser than me, about relationship development and "how to manifest (consciously create the right conditions for) the ideal relationship". I've made book recommendations in some of my previous posts on this site, for anyone interested in attracting a better partner, to create a rewarding and fulfilling relationship. (Hint: this involves LOTS of positive work on yourself first, in order for you to have CLARITY on what an ideal match should look and feel like :-)

Today, though, I touch on a simple but powerful choice of becoming someone "who doesn't drink"...

It's important to note, that alcohol was never an addictive problem for me (even though I started at a young age, 14yo)... And even trying to use it as medication when I had the most (physically) painful 6 months of my life, living with a bulging lumbar disc, several years ago - it never 'hooked' me into becoming addicted. If you remember, I quit wine a few years ago, because it was causing problems with my sleep patterns. No thank you on that one. SLEEP is the life-giver and didn't want something messing that up. Goodbye wine... It was nice to know you. BUT, it was easy to keep finding "reasons" to keep drinking craft beers and spirits. Even saying "I'm a social drinker.." was kind of silly... 'Social' or not, it was still drinking. Truth be told, I could go months and months without even thinking of a drink. And just the same there were weeks where I could have a few every night with dinner... And sometimes too much.

But I never "needed" it...

And in the last year or so, I just kept feeling like dropping alcohol could be an easy and big step forward in my personal commitment to optimal health and longevity. And setting yet an even better example for those around me. A few "messages from the universe" came to me in a sequence, in a short amount of time. Those messages were: 1 - At certain times, my "self" would ask me a question; "Why am I going to drink this organic beer with dinner?" "Why can't I just drink something else?" "Do I really need this?", "Is this doing me ANY good?" All my honest answers indicated there was ZERO need or reason to have a few with dinner. Simple. 2 - I came a across a recent article about the fight to get "Causes/Increases Risk of Cancer" on alcoholic beverage labels. And then I started to dig deeper - and everything I found just reinforced my decision to cut it out of my life. Here's a great infographic from cancerresearchuk.org, illustrating my point:

3 - Then, my friend (and Cellulite Success Story), Karie Lynn mentioned on a recent phone catch-up (the day before 4th of July) "Oh, I don't drink."... This came about as we were talking about the self-abusive antics people participate on on the 4th of July.. All the excessive drinking and eating that goes on, etc...

When Karie, said that - it echoed a few times in my mind... And then I started saying it to myself; "I don't drink." That night I "added it all up" and made my decision final; "I don't drink." And that was it... I haven't missed it, haven't craved it, don't regret it... As a matter of fact, I feel more alive, more "in-tune" with myself and more connected to the world around me. It's a subtle shift, but definite for sure. Everything about my life is even better than before. I want to add something here... Going back to the roots of the alcohol industry... The pioneers of booze & hooch knew there were massive riches in supplying the public with a 'consumable numbing agent' and with the legalization of it, way back when.. it has become a multi, multi Billion dollar "legal drug" industry that will never go away. It's up to us, as individuals, to step out of that 'matrix', and rise above it if we know it is the right choice, based on out long term values and our personal goals. Sure, plenty of people "drink responsibly", but knowing the risk of cancer increases substantially with alcohol consumption makes the "drinking responsibly" angle irrelevant. I want to live long and strong... I want to 'Live to the Max'... Dropping drinking is another big step up the ladder of positive motion for positive results - in ALL areas of life. Want to Meditate With Me?

So, if you recall, in one of my recent emails I mentioned “I’ve officially started meditating…” And I also promised a blog post about it. Not just to tell you more about what I’m doing - but to also suggest why and how you can get started with exploring your own options for meditation… In efforts of being open and transparent - I want to share with you what triggered me to start meditating now - as opposed to last year - or the year before…

Stress.

That’s one of the main reasons. Others are; for the sake of self development, anti-aging, enhanced cognitive and physical functioning, and more… But - back to the stress issue: Yes - I’m human - and I’m currently working through some common life stresses. One of the biggest advantages I have - is that I keep my daily fitness and nutrition as a top priority. Those are 2 of the biggest stress fighters PROVEN to help give us an advantage in managing it. But, as we know - life can still “bring it on” - and sometimes we need more ammo to help maintain some kind of balance.

Here are some of the stress sources I currently face:

1 - Back in May, we lost one of the teens in our extended family. We are a close family - so his passing hit close to home. The experience has changed us all. He was a fantastic and loving soul. Hard for us to understand the “why”. He’s in our thoughts and hearts everyday, as you might imagine. 2 - As a single dad, my time has become tighter - guiding me to be more mindful & proactive in time optimization. The process brings on some stress - but the outcome is worth it. 3 - Being discerningly single for several years now, I’m realizing the power of “healthy” companionship - and how its absence can leave much to be desired, on many levels - even for a busy, mission-driven spirit, like me. That absence, I believe, is causing a tiny bit of stress. No desperation - simply more ‘aware’ of the human need for well-matched connection. 4 - As you know, I’m working on getting SCULPTAFIT Studio location #1 open in the next few months. LOTS of pieces to a unique puzzle to put together. Lots of brain-bending - and big decision making through these early stages. Stress comes with that package. That being said - I feel blessed to be the one delivering this project to the world - I look forward to sharing more of this as the puzzle comes together. 5 - I’m releasing a very simple, but effective fat-loss program in the next few weeks. (a few subscribers have already gotten access to it for early stage use, etc..) Lots of women have been requesting this over the last few years - so I’ve quietly put something together that is going to be GREATLY appreciated by many. I’m hoping to release the full program toward the end of next week. Alrighty... As you can see - there is stress in my life. Again. Human… [Side note - make no mistake, I believe stress is normal, and REQUIRED in our lives, as there are positive aspects of it. BUT, when the levels rise too high - that’s where danger might be. SO, the proactive measure of managing it BEFORE it gets too high - is what I’m after here.] Hence the start of meditation. It’s been 10 days of "10 minutes every morning", FIRST thing in the morning. (I started with a free trial to the app: 'Headspace' ) and I’m most likely going to sign up as a client for ongoing access and progression to the next levels/zones. In short - meditation is bringing benefits. I feel I am able to reduce the amount of stress I create in my own mind - versus how much is actually “real”. I feel more relaxed overall. I’m sleeping better. I’m more in touch with my physical self - an enhanced mind/body/spirit connection, I guess we can say. I’m more content with life itself - the simple things. (I’ve always been this way - but am even better now during times of stress. This is a sweet breakthrough.) That’s the short version - and I plan on sharing more as time progresses as I believe this is a CRITICAL element of health, wellness and longevity for EVERYONE. (And I do plan to weave this into the ‘method/culture’ we deliver via the SCULPTAFIT Studios.) 1 Deadly Fat Now Officially Banned by the FDA

This week has flashed by at high speed as I work, what seems like non-stop, to get SCULPTAFIT location #1 open by late November (early photos coming soon)... It’s like putting together a HUGE puzzle - the only difference is I’m creating the pieces as I put this whole thing together…

Very fulfilling - but very demanding. And I want to let you know how much I appreciate you following along. Even from a distance - it’s energizing to know you’re pulling for me and supporting the big dream… So I THANK YOU!

Ok - onto the FDA Ban of Trans-Fats:

In June the FDA announced that food manufacturers have until June 2018 to remove the primary source of trans-fats, PHO’s (partially hydrogenated oils), from their products. (and there are THOUSANDS of them).

That’s over 2.5 years. Crazy but true. But it “must” be done because the FDA estimates this ban will save $140 BILLION in health care costs, just in the USA alone - over the next 20 years.

That’s a good indication of how damaging this evil ingredient is. Sad it took so long for all this to come to light.

The reasons for the ban? Here you go:

1 - they increase your bad cholesterol (the LDL’s)

2 - they lower your good cholesterol (the HDL’s)

3 - they are suspected to cause inflammtion

4 - they may lead to heart attacks and strokes

5 - they are linked to type-2 diabetes

6 - AND - they cause problems with memory and cognitive function

I strongly believe they also do MUCH more damage than that - but we’ll save that for another day.

Now - it’s VERY important to understand - this trans-fat “ban” doesn’t mean all will be fine and healthy - because the trans-fats will most likely be replaced with other risky fat ingredients, such as; palm kernel oil (high in saturated fat - and raises bad cholesterol levels)...

Genetically modified soybean oils will also become an alternative. Experts say these GMO oils may lead to a host of health problems and cause environmental issues. And what’s worse is that, as of now, these don’t have to be labeled as ‘GMOs’ - so people won’t even know this because GMO status won’t be on the label.

So, if the ban only means it will be replaced by other unhealthy alternatives - then what is one to do?

The answer is simple:

1 - Most of the processed foods that trans-fats go into - shouldn’t even be included in the “health and fitness lifestyle”.

2 - Those types of foods should basically be seen for what they are. Garbage. And banned from your own nutrition plan.

3 - The key is to focus on what you CAN and SHOULD be eating…. Foods and ingredients that are in line with your personal health and fitness goals. Simple.

4 - If you value your life - and you want to live as long and healthy as possible - don’t put foods in your body that are proven to cause disease, age you faster - and cause premature death.

5 - Now remember - the good fats are actually necessary for optimal health, performance and function. Fats such as organic extra-virgin olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil…. These are life-enhancers!! They cause lots of GOOD things to happen inside us.

And despite the old myth of fatty foods causing excess body fat - that’s only half true. Because there are (healthy) fatty foods that actually help us BURN OFF unwanted, excess body-fat and flab…

Unique Super-Power Fitness Coffee Recipe

Today I share with you my latest recipe for an nutrient-dense, power-packed "coffee", loaded with vitamins, minerals, phytonutrients, fiber, antioxidants, full-spectrum proteins, EFA's and a host of other critical elements that are VITAL for "Living to the Max"... Regenerative Stem Cell Therapy for Anti-Aging & Life Extension

I have a feeling this is going to be the first post of many - on this topic... I've known about the field for quite some time - but in the last 4 months I've started to learn a lot more about the finer details - and the potential it offers us in terms of Anti-Aging & Life Extension. One of the catalysts for me wanting to write about this for you - is the back/disc malfunction I went through about 2.5 years ago (depending on how long you've been here in 'AtlasVille' - you might remember me writing about that excruciating period of life). But there are more ingredients at work here...

The photo above is one I took - just a few days ago, during an actual Regenerative Stem Cell Therapy procedure. The vial being held by the doctors assistant, held over 1 Billion active mesenchymal stem cells (MSC), drawn just 1 hour prior - from the person they were re-injected into just 30 minutes after the photo was taken. For now - that is all I can share in terms of the details of this story. Once I can share more, I will be sure to do so - because I believe anyone reading this will benefit from the information.
To be clear - when I speak of "Anti-Aging & Life Extension" - what I'm referring to (for now) is; Enhancing the performance and function of the human body and mind, AS WE AGE - and extending our quality of life - as a result.
